2018 Pan American Water Ski Championships in Chile – Day 2 WRAP UP
Day 2 began with the final division for Trick Prelims. WSWA Athlete Shae O’Brien competed in the trick event today. She scored 1650 points and took 9th place.
For the 55+, 45+ and 35+ divisions for men and ladies and for the U14 Boys and Girls Divisions were on today as well. Here’s how our WSWA Athletes faired in the jump prelims competition.
BU14 Evan Kraus had his best jump of 25,9m (85ft) – which put him in 8th place and just missed the Finals.
GU14 Shae O’Brien's best jump put her into the Finals on Wednesday as 2nd seed. Way to go!
Ladies 45+ Kristy Kraus also will move onto the JUMP FINALS on Wednesday.
Evan Kraus finished in 4th place. He increased his trick points from the Prelims to the Finals and just missed the podium. Evan has also qualified for the Finals in Slalom which will be held on Wednesday.
Ladies 45+ Kristy Kraus took home the Silver Medal in the Tricks Finals.
Men 55+ Bruce Dodd – was top seed going into the Finals, and with a score of 3810 points, Bruce earned the Gold Medal.
The last events of the day today were the SLALOM FINALS for the 55+ 45+ and 35+ for both Men and women divisions.
Ladies 45+ Kristy Kraus picked up a Silver Medal.
Ladies 35+ Tiffany Edgecombe place 3rd and took home a Bronze Medal.
Men 55+ Bruce Dodd was the 2nd seed going into the Finals but put down an awesome score and took home the GOLD in the Finals.
Men 45+ Mike Collombin increased his score from the prelims and earned a Bronze Medal.
Men 35+ Matt Storrier had a huge score in the prelims that put him in the Finals, but just missed getting on the podium today.
Awesome day for Canada and our WSWA Athletes! Big day for Bruce Dodd winning 2 GOLD medals today !
