In it's 50th year, WSWA would like to celebrate the past year's accomplishments of its athletes. WSWA promotes all towed water sports from 3 event classic water skiing, which includes, slalom, trick and jump, plus wakeboard, wakesurf and hydrofoil. WSWA promotes all levels of towed water sports from grassroots, development and competitive. WSWA has athletes from beginner to wake and water ski teams to world champions and world record holders.
Mats Anderson is on the Alberta Wake Team. He competes in what many consider the toughest division in the CWSA (Competitive Wake Surf Association). He had an outstanding season collecting medals almost everywhere he went. His accomplishments this season include (but are not limited to) 1st at the Wizard Lake Wake Stop, finalist at the Wake Shredder Throwdown CWSA competition in California; 1st at the Pine Lake stop; 2nd at the Alberta Wake Provincials to secure title of Alberta Wake Series Champion in Men’s Amateur Wake Surf. The recipient is currently ranked 12th overall on the CWSA. He was invited to compete at the World Wake Surf Championships in Kelowna this past September.. This year, Mats earned the honour of 2017 Developing Athlete of the Year. Congratulations Mats on your very successful season. Keep up the hard work!
