In it's 50th year, WSWA would like to celebrate the past year's accomplishments of its athletes. WSWA promotes all towed water sports from 3 event classic water skiing, which includes, slalom, trick and jump, wakeboard, wakesurf and hydrofoil. WSWA promotes all levels of towed water sports from grassroots, development and competitive. WSWA has athletes from beginner to wake and water ski teams to world champions and world record holders.
Evan Kraus is on the Alberta Water Ski Team. He had an incredible year of training and development and he earned the title of 2017 Developing Athlete of the Year. Evan was able to grow his trick score this year from his previous personal best of just over 1200 points to 3080 points. He also increased his slalom personal best by 7 buoys, more than one whole pass, and increased his jump score by 15 feet. Evan seemed to collect medals at every event including but not limited to, 1st Slalom, Trick, Jump and Overall at Alberta Provincials held at Dodds Pond; 1st Trick, 3rd Slalom, 3rd Jump and 3rd Overall at the Canadian National Water Ski Championships held at Predator Bay. Evan has shown continued dedication and commitment this year which earned him a nomination to the 2017 U14 Can Am Team representing Canada in the US. Congratulations Evan Kraus on being named the 2017 WSWA Developing Athlete of the Year. Your hard work, dedication and perseverance has paid off. Keep up the hard work! Keep having fun!
