In it's 50th year, WSWA would like to celebrate the past year's accomplishments of its athletes. WSWA promotes all towed water sports from 3 event classic water skiing, which includes, slalom, trick and jump, to wakeboard, wakesurf and hydrofoil. WSWA promotes all levels of towed water sports from grassroots, development and competitive. WSWA has athletes from beginner to athletes on wake and water ski teams to world champions and world record holders.
Lily Anderson is a member of the WSWA Wake Team. She has had a fantastic season earning her 2017 WSWA Female Athlete of the Year. Not only is she an amazing athlete, Lily has been described as having a positive attitude and being a role model within the community. Every event seemed to turn into medals for her. Results from the season include but are not limited to 1st at the Wizard Lake stop of the Wake Tour, 1st at the Wake Shredder Throwdown in California, 1st at BC Battle of the Wake, 1st at the Supreme Northwest Wakesurf Open, 1st at the Alberta Wake Provincials securing the Alberta Wake Series Title for Outlaw Female and 1st place at the Koocanusa Wake Surf Challenge; 1st place at the Canadian Wake Surf National Championships and 2nd place at the USA Wake Surf National Championships and 1st place at the World Wake Surf Championships in Kelowna in September. On top of collecting medals, Lily, is an honour roll student and leaves a positive vibe wherever she goes. Congratulations Lily on your very successful season. Your future looks bright!
