Hydrofoil is a relatively recent addition to the towed water sports. A hydrofoil is a combination of a ski, a seat, and a dual foil.  The hydrofoil lifts an athlete out of the wake, and they 'fly' over the surface of the water.

Hydrofoil or Air Chair as it is also called, was introduced to the world in 1990. By 1999 it was a well established competitive sport attracting riders from all over the world.
