Water Ski & Wake Alberta hosts sanctioned events and programs in Alberta.  If you are wanting to learn to ski or wakesurf or wakeboard or looking to reach your goals and make the Provincial Team and beyond, we have the programs, events and pathways for you!

If you are wanting to build a career as a coach or develop your skills as an official or become a volunteer to help us support our programs and events, then we have the pathways for you!

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS

We have an Annual Membership that covers individuals, youths and families.

1 Membership for all

We have clubs and schools memberships

 

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP ($40)

WHO IS IT FOR

For all -- individuals or youths or families.

 Families members include those who are married,

legally dependent children and they all reside at the same address. 

EXAMPLE OF USE

Competitive members who will compete in a

wake tour stop event or a water ski tournament

OR competitive members who will compete in

Water Ski Provincials or Wake Provincials

or any higher level tournament such as Westerns or Nationals that is held in Alberta

 

 

Members who will participate in any WSWA Sanctioned Training

 

Members who will participate in kids or adults camps or clinics

 

Members who  will be participating in the Indoor Water Ski Program in Fort McMurray

Members who belong to a Club

Members who will take a Coaching or an Officials Course offered by WSWA or another PSO

Members who will participate in any WSWA Sanctioned Training

Basically if you will be an ACTIVE member throughout the season

at various events or camps you need an Annual Membership

either an Individual Annual Membership or a Family Annual Membership

If you are trying out a clinic (1/2 day only) for the 1st time 

and you did not belong to WSWA in any previous years,

you can take out a one time Event Membership (see below)

Our Club Membership and Club Liability/Insurance is

designed to fit the needs of our Canadian Towed Watersports Clubs

WHAT IS DEFINED AS A CLUB?

An operation that acts as a non-profit organization and where every person involved with the club is a member of their respective provincial water ski and wakeboard association. This includes, but is not limited to club members, volunteers, staff, and every participant in club activities on or off the water.  That simply means that every club member must take out a WSWA Membership (cost is $40 for the annual membership).

COST TO BECOME A CLUB:

You can become a Club Membership with WSWA for an annual fee of $200. 

We now have a Rewards Program where you can earn back a portion of your annual fee!

WHY BE A CLUB?

When you become a Club with WSWA you can then

purchase CLUB LIABILITY/INSURANCE with our NSO, Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada

 

We have a NEW Rewards Program launching in 2021! 

You can earn points / rewards with the opportunity to get your membership fees money back!

CLUB MEMBERSHIP HOW DOES IT WORK:

Purchase your membership for $200 and then you will complete your

membership information on 
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada's website.

After you take out and pay for your Club Membership, you can then purchase 

Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada’s Club Liability/Insurance, this is also on WSWC's website.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CLUB MEMBERSHIP:

Each club member will be required to purchase the Annual  Individual or Family Membership (Cost $40)

Each guest that visits your club and participates in Club activities on and off the water,

MUST also purchase the Annual Individual or Family Membership (Cost $40)

CLUB LIABILITY/INSURANCE FOR YOUR CLUB:

Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada’s (WSWC) club insurance/liability program has been designed to fit the needs of Canadian towed watersports clubs.

Basic coverage is available for 5M policies.

Additional optional coverage is available for an additional cost. 
 

BENEFITS TO CLUB LIABILITY/INSURANCE FOR YOUR CLUB:

General Comprehensive Liability Insurance

 

$5 million liability limit per occurrence 

Coverage for bodily injury and property damage

Participant and 3rd party injury

$1M tenants legal liability​

Director’s & Officer’s Liability Insurance  (contact insurance@wswc.ca for more info) 

Access to Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada’s optional Club Directors and Officers (D&O) Insurance Program,

which protects your club’s directors and officers from personal liability associated

with their wrongful acts, errors, and omissions in the performance of duties

for your club such as alleged mismanagement of funds and negligent decisions

affecting club members, participants, coaches, officials, and others.

NEW REWARD PROGRAM FOR BEING A CLUB

If you become a Club with WSWA you can earn points based on the membership #'s

that are part of your club and also activities and programs you host on behalf of WSWA.   

Earning points, meaning earning $ back!
 

We have set up a points system and we will evaluate your club

at the end of the season and see how many points you have earned. 
 

You will earn points for many items that offers value to WSWA,

such as new members, total members, officials and new officials,

coaches and new coaches, and programs and events you host at your club. 
 

From these total points we will give part of your club membership

$$ back to you! It's a WIN-WIN!

For WSWA, membership is very important to our operation. We receive funding based on our membership #'s.  An objective of our strategic plan is to grow membership.  Clubs and their members  assist us to grow and retain membership #'s which in turn provides us funding necessary to operate.  So membership is very important to WSWA!

SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP & LIABILITY/INSURANCE

The Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada “WSWC” school liability insurance program has been designed to fit the needs of Canadian towed watersports schools.

 

Basic coverage is available for 3M or 5M policies. Additional optional coverage is available for an additional cost. Please see price list below. 

What is defined as a school: a school is defined as an operation whose participants do not necessarily become members of their respective provincial water ski and wakeboard association.
